Simple Green Beans Poriyal


Ingredients :

Simple Green Beans Poriyal Ingredients

Green Beans - 150 gm (edges removed, finely chopped)
Onion - 1 no (chopped)
Green Chili - 2 nos (slitted lengthwise)
Shred Coconut - 2 tbsp
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Water - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste.

To Temper :

Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal / Black Gram (skinless) - 1/4 tsp

Method :


Steps To Make Beans Poriyal :
  • Heat oil in a kadai, temper mustard seeds and urad dal, after splutter add the onion, green chili and curry leaves, saute until the onion becomes slightly golden brown colour.
  • Add beans and saute for an minute.
  • Add required salt and then sprinkle water, mix well and cook for 5 to 7min in simmer.


  • Finally add Shred Coconut and saute for few seconds, remove from the flame and ready to serve.


Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Sambar or Village Sambar and Rasam.
