Simple Potato Poriyal - Urulai Kizhangu Poriyal


Ingredients :

Simple Potato Poriyal - Urulai Kizhangu Poriyal Ingredients

Potatoes - 250 gm (cut into thin slice)
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Water - 1/2 cup
Oil - 2 tbsp
Salt to taste.

To Temper :

Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal / Black Gram (skinless) - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 2 stks

Method :


Steps To Make Potato Poriyal :
  • Heat oil in a kadai / frying pan, temper mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves, after splutter add the potato slices and saute for an minute.
  • Then add red chili powder, turmeric powder and required salt, saute until the raw smell leaves completely.


  • Pour water, close the lid and cook for 5 to 7 minute in simmer til the water has reduced completely, stir in between and ready to serve.

Simple Potato Poriyal - Urulai Kizhangu Poriyal

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Sambar or Village Sambar or Dal Rice with Rasam.
